Job Description


  • We are looking for an engaging CTO (m/f), who will be in charge of setting up the new IT department with currently a handful of well qualified and passionate senior engineers. You will find and select talented people from around the world and build up a great team and atmosphere
  • You are experienced in developing high-traffic eCommerce/marketplace sites and therefore can't wait to enjoy helping out your team hands-on in difficult or urgent situations by providing guidance, knowledge and support
  • You will be responsible for tech strategy, setting priorities, managing resources and assuring on-time delivery for further internationalization of our client's high-traffic sites and supplier platforms
  • You will be an inspirational leader building a coder-by-heart mentality. You provide the team with direction and vision. Further, you motivate your team members to perform, support them with feedback and coaching, recognize and help them develop their strengths
  • You and your team are in charge of everything that could somehow be IT related. Development of the B2C platform, connected suppliers and daily operations will be among your main tasks. Therefore, you ensure outstanding quality of code and architecture, a flawless 24/7 availability of the systems, investigate incidents, solve problems and oversee different projects, timelines and releases simultaneously
  • You will enjoy high visibility in this role, as you will be significantly responsible for the company's success, act as a sparring partner to the general management and interact with different stakeholders within the company and external investors




Candidate's Profile

  • You have valuable experience in a fast-paced, rapidly growing Internet environment and leading complex international projects and teams using agile methodologies; ideally in eCommerce or marketplaces
  • You are a true expert in your field. You have a strong sense for the company's business needs and IT requirements. You can translate your understanding into clear directives for the company's team of developers and engineers
  • You have a strong technical background within various fields of Information Technology, ideally in web development using PHP
  • You have previously achieved remarkable results in Web Development and Architecture and still enjoy producing excellent code whenever it is needed
  • You are capable of and interested in identifying technological opportunities, risks and challenges and are well informed about the web-based competition and technical hurdles that could possibly have an effect on the business
  • You have a passion for creating lean, target oriented IT systems. Very good problem solving skills and a 'can do' attitude as well as the enthusiasm and ability to mentor less experienced team members complete your profile
  • You are a goal-oriented, reliable person with a well-structured way of working. Very importantly, you are capable of passing work on to the people you are responsible for and whom you trust
  • You can work independently, but you are also able to show a constructive approach to any given guidance and don't mind asking for support when in need

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing HR strategic and operational objectives for the business and provides guidance, advice and execution support for a broad array of employee topics.   • Develop and integrate diversity and inclusion strategies into business plan to ensure an inclusive approach to employees, customers, consumers and partners.
  • Create and execute a life cycle approach to talent management focused on forecasting, talent acquisition, on-boarding, development, performance management, career / succession planning, talent movement and retention to fuel current and future business growth.
  • Lead organization design activities to streamline and implement new organization structures, roles and/or processes that create speed and efficiency and support rapidly shifting business demands.

Qualifications


  • 15+ years’ related experience in Human Resources in a global organization.
  • Experience working as part of an executive leadership team preferred.

The Director, Operational Excellence, will report into the senior vice president of worldwide  Operations and will serve as a highly impactful and influential member of the regional operations executive team.  This position will be accountable for the management of warehouse continuous improvement activities and results associated with the company's UAE businesses.  This executive will help architect the strategic blueprint to build a culture of continuous improvement that maximizes capital efficiency through the existing supply chain infrastructure, while positioning the organization to respond to the growing needs of our leadership stage uae client diverse business units as they continue to grow and evolve.  More specifically the Director will implement a formal “Lean/Kaizen” program tasked with step change initiatives leading to 30% productivity and efficiency gains resulting in $80M measurable savings from the operational expense exit rate of FY 2014 actuals.   To be successful the director will be adept at working across the operations and engineering organization to create an execution-oriented CI program that demands transparency and accountability to savings objectives while further strengthening the relationship between operations and our business unit partners to enable profitable growth and an enhanced customer experience. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key Duties include:

  • Institutionalize a culture of continuous improvement that values relentless issue identification and resolution across entire organization
  • Develop common language, processes, and approaches to identify, analyze, implement, and track improvement opportunities
  • Build leadership and organizational capabilities to drive step-change and ongoing continuous improvement
  • Lead and deliver efficiencies on large Continuous Improvement efforts, collaborating with division heads to gain efficiencies within and across divisional boundaries
  • Develop, standardize and institutionalize a CI business system (playbook) for all CI efforts; complete training curriculum and plan for training
  • Recruit internal and external talent for the organization, train and deploy resources across initiatives undertaken within the Continuous Improvement umbrella
  • Recruit, train and build high performing CI Group
  • Act as CI coach to senior level executives
  • Provide regular insights and counseling on progress of CI as cultural transformation program
  • Jointly account for operational and financial progress against defined goals
  • Provide senior level interface to other divisions/functions

  • Drive continuous improvement with run rate productivity improvement of ~5% per year in all areas
  • Deliver parallel gains in customer service quality and employee engagement
  • Identify, size, and execute 2-4 step change initiatives per year – including cross-functional initiatives
  • 30+% of front line employees actively involved in continuous improvement
  • 100% of functional areas have improvement initiatives underway that use common CI language, processes, and approaches
  • Jointly identify and prioritize critical business needs, appropriate CI initiatives and corresponding metric/ measurement criteria



Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Strategic Skills:  Has deep and credible expertise on CI methods and processes and can effectively influence key executives on strategy
  • Execution Skills: With the objective of creating a best-in-class distribution and logistics services operation for Ingram Micro, the successful candidate must have the confidence and presence to consistently challenge the organization.   Importantly, this leader will identify opportunities where needed, based on business and operational problem solving skills that lead to stated objectives
  • Change Management:  This individual will be able to motivate, develop and role model to create follower-ship in the organization.  Strong interaction, communication and influencing skills will be a must from the front line to the Executive Suite.  The net result will be a “Lean cultural transformation” and a leader that is is respected and trusted for its analytical rigor and decision-making capability.  In addition, as the network continues to evolve and change, the Director must strive to improve the depth and consistency of talent across the organization. With this in mind, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build a top-rated organization by hiring experienced leadership into key roles, and establishing outstanding mentoring and training programs.
  • Organized:  Is well organized, resourceful, and effective at marshaling multiple resources to get things done; lays out tasks in sufficient detail to mark the trail; is able to get things done with less and in less time; can work on multiple tasks at once without losing track; foresees and plans around obstacles.
  • Communication:  Writes and presents effectively; adjusts to fit the audience and the message; strongly gets a message across.  Is able to manage up; is ambitious and is comfortable marketing himself/herself to higher management.


Required Experience

  • Formal education or training required such as degrees, courses of study, certification: Bachelor’s degree minimum, MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of Logistics/Distribution/ and/or Transportation related experience, with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum of five years in experience developing and leading Lean and/or Six Sigma programs at an enterprise level, with prior and demonstrated success designing and implementing a “start-up” CI organization
  • Should possess Distribution Operations knowledge to include receiving, shipping and inventory control processes
  • Understanding of 3PL operations to assist in client on-boarding and process development
  • Must be able to travel which is anticipated to be between 40 - 50%.
